Family Retreat for PREP children

The theme of the retreat for the families and children involved in our PREP program took place on Sunday, February 9, beginning with the 11 o’clock Mass. The theme of the retreat was Invite God In. Jesus did not say, “Remember me.”  He said, “Do this in memory of me.”  And so, we rely on our church rituals to help us to live as Jesus taught.  Family rituals enable us to focus on the moment, to celebrate our family–“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.”
Families enjoyed a puppet show featuring, Sister Mary Theresa Frances.  She reminded them that God is the center of every act of love.  Families completed activities around joining hands and affirmation.  In the concluding rite, the presenters from the Marianist Center set the table with an explanation for each item and how it relates to our families at the Eucharistic table.
Take a look at our PREP families spending their day in retreat.
